MLB Network's coverage includes weekly live regular-season games, more than 150 Spring Training games and other special-event game telecasts.

"MLB Tonight" airs year-round, including seven days per week during the regular season with live look-ins at games in progress, news, interviews, highlights and analysis.

The London hotel, perched on the edge of Belgravia overlooking Hyde Park Corner, has been 30 years and £1.1 billion in the making (the first billion pound hotel in the UK). The company’s chairman, Sir Michael Kadoorie, whose family opened the original Peninsula hotel in Hong Kong in 1928 (Which, incidentally, Techlive also serve), finally landed the dream location for his brand of Asian hospitality when the site of the former headquarters of civil engineering firm McAlpine came available.

Every whim has been thought of within the magnificently presented bedrooms, with technology aiding every step of the guest stay, without them needing to be particularly technically literate, which is testament to the systems deployment.

Like the city, The Peninsula Istanbul’s design is a delightful dialogue between past and present. Set on the European side of the Golden Horn, which flows into the Bosphorus, the hotel comprises four buildings: two from the early 20th century, a 1930s Bauhaus beauty and a glassy new build, all seamlessly sewn together with corridors of Marmara marble. Fittingly, guests arrive at what would have been the former port’s passport office, where you can’t help but look up at the magnificent Bauhaus ceiling brought back to luminous back-lit life by charismatic Turkish designer Zeynep Fadıllıoğlu.

After all is said and done, and the guests lay back in their sumptuous surroundings, they can watch the very latest cinematic spectacle on the large screen LG TVs, fitted out with Dolby Surround audio, proudly presented by Airtime.

We discussed many options with the hotel including our new United TV service (www.united.tv) which specialises in delivering IP TV channels direct to hotels.  In this instance the IP delivery was not deemed a suitable solution, so we suggested utilising their existing smart TV estate with Airtime – which of course carries 6 LIVE international channels at NO cost to the hotel.

The GM was delighted with this solution and had the added bonus of being able to provide their guests with the latest movies on demand.

Working with the systems integrator, Airwave Europe, Techlive were able to put in place a POC in the staff area and adjust the user interface to accommodate the solution.  Once approved, the roll out was extremely simple.  All the TVs in place already had Airtime pre-loaded and it was simply a case of activating the service for the hotel.  All of this was done remotely and after just a few Teams calls the hotel had the solution in place in all of their 312 guest bedrooms.

A problem solved at no cost to the hotel, meaning they stay within brand standards, but also offer a premium in-room service which has been greatly appreciated by the guests.

Background

The recently opened $1 Billion Cleveland Clinic London hospital provides state-of-the-art medical technology together with the outstanding care and expertise that is associated with the leading healthcare group which attracts patients from around the globe.

The hospital has 184 patient beds, 29 intensive care beds and 8 operating theatres employing 1,139 caregivers, including 270 physicians and 450 nurses. Since opening, Cleveland Clinic London has provided patients with high quality care, as well as world-class patient experience built around the health system’s best practices and core values. Cleveland Clinic is a doctor-led model of care that is empathetic, innovative and based on research and education. The Challenge

The installed IPTV system from Tripleplay by Uniguest provided patients with channels mainly from the UK, but this didn’t meet the needs of all patients as many were from various parts of the world, with different cultures and languages. The site is located close to Buckingham Palace and there is a restriction in the area preventing satellite dishes being installed. Then, Front of House Manager at Cleveland, Renata Milekovic contacted Uniguest with a ‘wish list’ of channels required.

The Solution

Tripleplay contacted their content partner, Techlive International which was to able to deliver 40 international IPTV channels using their United TV service. A professional 1U rack mounted server was installed at the IPTV headend and connected to the core IPTV switch. The server is able to receive a unicast stream for each channel, but converts this to a multicast stream for the local network enabling concurrent viewing of each channel.

Currently, there are over 200 movies on Airtime, which typically refresh with four to five new titles each month.

Encryption Protocols

Delivering the content as seamlessly to the guests as possible is the primary objective of Airtime, whilst doing this we have a duty of protection to the content providers and have enhanced our Digital Rights Management protocol to the latest supported versions.

Unfortunately, this has meant that Airtime has had to take the difficult decision to no longer support some devices within the market that were previously able to enjoy Airtime, in particular the LG STB 5500 and the LG models prior to WebOS 5.0 (although models WebOS 3.7 – 5.0 can be side-loaded).

New Platforms

Airtime is excited to extend its platform portfolio to include Apple and Airtime now available on tvOS devices on an exclusive Free-To-Guest Basis.

New Device Management

We have reviewed our entire infrastructure of device management and as such have made a fundamental change to how devices are activated.

We have listened to our partners and have made the activation process a lot quicker and can even be deployed without visiting a single room.

Previously, Airtime needed a manual intervention from the user which required a 4-digit PIN.  The new version of Airtime hopefully decreases the time required in-room for each installer

There are two methods of activation of Airtime:

• Remote - automatic enrolment
• On-site - activation request method

When airtime is installed at a contracted property, each TV on the account needs to be activated. This process uniquely ties the individual television with the airtime account and creating the unique Device ID which can be used to track usage

Each of the two methods above a reliant on the Airtime application being installed on the TV estate.

“I didn’t set out to shock,” says Wilfried van Winden, chief architect of WAM, the Delft-based practice behind it. “But this is, of course, an outspoken building. And the language it speaks is the architectural language of Zaanstad. It makes a big statement, sure, but the building is not an imposition – it belongs here.” All the facades are based on traditional Zaanstad houses. “From a stately notary’s dwelling,” he says, “to workers’ cottages.” Van Winden’s favourite is a re-creation, high up, of a blue house that features in a work by Claude Monet, painted during a trip to Zaandam.

It is in-fact a wonderfully modern hotel, with a recent technological in-room facelift provided by IRS Telecoms, deployed with Otrum Mirage and Samsung Smart TVs, the TVs (at least) sit square on the walls! While guests may be amazed by the exterior of this hotel, we also think they will be equally in awe at the movies available on the Airtime solution deployed in the well appointed 165 bedrooms.

Gleneagles Townhouse already boasts a rich history, as the predecessors of the space include the Bank of Scotland and the British Linen Company. More recently, Ennismore Design Studio has headed up the restoration of the building to bring it into its full glory.

Of course, the opening of Townhouse wouldn’t be complete without providing the best entertainment for each guest, and what better way to do this than by installing Airtime. In 1921, Gleneagles hosted their first international golf tournament, which took place between American and British golfers. This event has now been regarded as the precursor to The Ryder Cup.

1. Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc - Killers

The most photographed hotel in the world is over 150 years old and has played a vital role in storytelling for the majority of these years. The hotel has been host to multiple literary writers, such as Fitzgerald, Hemingway, Stefan Zweig, and Noël Coward, actors including Marlene Dietrich, Alain Delon, and Elizabeth Taylor. If one movie wasn’t enough, the hotel’s restaurant was also used in the James Bond film, Diamonds Are Forever.

 2. The Headland Hotel - The Witches

The iconic Hotel Excelsior in the popular 1990 film adaption of Roald Dahl’s The Witches, is in fact the Headland Hotel. Located in Cornwall and despite being 30 years old, the film is still watched today around the world. As a result, many visit the Headland Hotel, hoping to look around for the mice that were in the movie!

3. Peninsula Hong Kong – James Bond, The Man With The Golden Gun

The Peninsula’s flagship hotel has been considered the best hotel in the world for many years, and as a result, of course, it would make the best movie location for one of the greatest film franchises. In the film, James Bond (Roger Moore) witnesses Bond girl Andrea Anders (Maud Adams) being picked up by one of the famous “Peninsula-green” Rolls-Royces. The hotel hosts the famous fleet of green Rolls-Royce courtesy cars. Recently, the cars have been updated from Rolls Royce Silver Spurs to 14 long-wheelbase Rolls-Royce Phantoms, the largest single order placed with Rolls-Royce in its history.

4. Royal Lancaster Hotel – The Italian Job

The Royal Lancaster Hotel has been host to many events star-studded movie locations over the years, from the Beatles ‘Yellow Submarine’ to the Italian Job. Filmed in 1968, the hotel has seen substantial renovations and has also chosen to honour its link to the movie with toy Minis in some of the rooms.

5. Gstaad Palace – The Return of the Pink Panther

An iconic film could only have been filmed in an iconic location, the 1975 movie not only included shots from the hotel but the hotel’s famous Rolls Royce Phantom has chauffeured many of the guests of the film through the region.

After a full refurbishment, VR utilised Philips professional displays Hospitality TVs, with the integration being carried out by Techlive’s local partners AV Supply Group. VR is an exciting brand that is currently expanding throughout New Zealand, that aims to create “A home away from home”. Airtime was installed on the site in order to ensure that even the guest entertainment helped carry the needs of VR guests. The Airtime app hosts over 250+ hours of content which is continually updated, therefore VR had no worries in implementing the App, which would cover all of their guest’s needs. The addition of Airtime was particularly helpful for VR guests, with no need to log in, subscribe or cast their content to their Philips TVs.

The charity supports over 300 children and young adults up to the age of 19 years old. Life-limiting conditions often come with many complications,  as a result, it is not just the person with the condition that suffers. As a result, families often struggle with multiple children, much-needed respite, and enjoying their time with their child/young adult. Most importantly, Chestnut Tree House ensures support for the entire family. This is by providing services such as counseling, coffee mornings, community care, and advanced educational tools. The charity aids families with the crucial quality of life care in their day-to-day lives.

The charity has to raise over £3.9M yearly, to provide its services. In fact, the Daily costs amount to £6,850. The services provided are at no cost to the family and the government cover less than 7p per pound required. As a result, the charity heavily relies upon donations for the incredible care they provide.

For this reason, on June 18th Techlive together with members of the SCCI group and partners will be embarking on a marathon walk along the North Downs to raise the cost of one day’s operations at the house.

Have some time to spare? The in-room entertainment goes far beyond expectations with every room boasting a 55-inch LG SMART TV with Airtime. Guests can watch Hollywood content and live channels, with a cinematic feel. Alongside this, Airtime’s latest payment gateway means that guests are able to purchase content uninterrupted. After the movie ends, guests are able to relax further, as every room comes with an ocean view.

Additionally, there are a number of Hilton hotels that have adopted Airtime into their entertainment systems. However, Hilton Costabella marks the first in the chain to use Airtime as a Hilton-approved product.

For this project, Techlive worked with Procodex to implement Airtime to the front page of Otrum SMART TV’s interface.

Airtime has been installed in partnership with the telecoms giant Swisscom on Samsung’s Reach hospitality system. In addition, Airtime offers multi-language movies in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Russian. If this wasn’t enough, guests will also have access to subtitles in Chinese, Arabic, Turkish, Polish, and Portuguese.

After watching their new favorite movie, guests can dine at five different restaurants with Italian and international specialties. Most importantly, the gourmet cuisine has been awarded 15 Gault-Millau points. For a more soothing pastime, guests can indulge their senses in the 1800 square meter Palace Spa. During the summer months, an Olympic-sized outdoor pool and four tennis courts are available. Those wanting a very unique experience of the luxury and tranquillity of the Saanenland can book a stay at the Palace’s Walig Hut. Situated at 1700 meters above the sea, this alpine cabin dates back to 1783. As a result, the Palace encompasses a truly authentic landscape. The Scherz family welcomes guests from 21 December to 7 March 2021 and from 19 June 2021 to 12 September 2021.

Hearts had installed and configured Philips 6014 Mediasuites throughout the 56 luxury rooms boasting living space roll top baths overlooking the breath-taking views. So simple was Airtime to deploy, Ralph and his team installed the service in a matter of days allowing his guests to watch complimentary blockbuster movies from the comfort of their bath!

“Our guests are very happy with all the complimentary movies we offer them with the Airtime service. Not everyone has an account with one of the major streaming services and this way we can offer a real added value to our guests. They love it.” said Ralph.

So impressed with the hotel, Techlive’s own Reece Aherne took a mild diversion on a cross European road trip to see with his own eyes. “It was a pleasure to stay at Hearts Hotel and take some well earned R&R after a particularly busy year to date. Airtime offers guests a rich content library with movies from major Hollywood studios, available weeks before they are launched via other consumer services. For the guest, Airtime is simple – choose a movie, pay with a credit card (via a secure PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway), then relax whilst the movie is streamed directly to the in-room TV.

The Mahogany Bay Village is part of Belize’s first luxury branded resort, featuring a collection of customisable homes and a bustling retail marketplace. Located on the stunning island of Ambergris Caye and overlooking the Caribbean Sea, the resort provides guests with one of Central America’s must luxurious hospitality experiences.

Part of a recent refurbishment remit included the provision of a movie and television package – and with deadlines and soon-to-be arriving guests to worry about, a speedy resolution was required. “The beauty of our cloud-based system is the speed at which it can be implemented” said product manager, Richard Excell, “indeed in this instance, we managed to install a free-to-guest Airtime package into 106 rooms within four hours of the email enquiry!”

Airtime requires no in-room hardware or on-site servers and can be downloaded onto compatible smart TVs in a few minutes – consequently, subject to a hotel’s agreement, a portfolio of movies can be installed and ready to watch in a matter of moments.
