After many years, JSTV is ceasing broadcasting on satellite and is being replaced with a new Japanese language channel called NHK WORLD PREMIUM which offers more content across greater genres, is available 24 hours a day and is completely free of advertisements.
What is NHK WORLD PREMIUM?
NHK WORLD PREMIUM is the new Japanese language service, with the best programming from NHK, the national broadcaster of Japan and is a subscription service. It is aimed at Japanese speakers and nationals who may be travelling for business or pleasure.
Where is NHK WORLD PREMIUM available?
Techlive provides the channel across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. We supply the channel to commercial entities like hotels, hospitals, universities etc but do not have rights to supply the channel to domestic households.
What is the difference between NHK WORLD PREMIUM and NHK WORLD JAPAN?
These are two completely different channels. NHK WORLD PREMIUM is the new Japanese language service, with the best programming from NHK, the national broadcaster of Japan and is a subscription service. It is aimed at Japanese speakers and nationals who may be travelling for business or pleasure. However, NHK WORLD JAPAN is a current affairs and documentary channel in English aimed at the international community, which also provides the latest news and showcases Japanese life and culture.
How can I receive NHK WORLD PREMIUM?
Techlive International will provide the channel as the exclusive distributor across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The company will also work closely with existing Systems Integrators and TV channel agents and partners to deliver the channel to your premises. How is NHK WORLD PREMIUM technically delivered to my premises?
The channel is delivered over the internet on IP. The easiest way to receive it is by replacing the current JSTV satellite receiving equipment with a very small IP receiver connected to your existing TV distribution headend. An alternative way to receive the channel is via the cloud-based Airtime application which operates on Samsung, LG and Philips smart hospitality TVs. The team at Techlive or your local Systems Integrator/TV Channel supplier will be able to advise and assist.
